DASH Installation
There are different installation instructions depending on the file downloaded. The name of the download file will determine which installation steps to follow.
Instructions for Multi-Database Installation
This section defines the installation process using the Jetspeed Installer. It is more detailed. Use this set of instructions if you downloaded the DASHv2.0_Multi.zip file.
- Download PDF - Download complete install instructions as a PDF
- Server and Operating System , Basic server requirements, operating systems, JAVA versions needed and Setup
- Data Base Preparation , Create Data Base Schema and User Access for Jetspeed 2.1 Installation
- Download DASH v2.0 and Install Jetspeed ,Download DASH v2.0, UnZip and Install Apache Jetspeed 2.1 Enterprise Portal
- Install MARVELit WAR and Build DASH Tables ,Install the WAR file and Build required DASH SQL Tables
- Startup DASH and Deploy WARs ,Startup DASH for the first time and deploy WARs - performs basic configuration
- Install DASH Layouts ,Move specific layouts and XML files to folder destinaitons
- Change Admin Password ,Startup DASH, login as Admin, change password
- Install DASH Pages ,Move specific Pages for Demo Dashboard
- Final Configuration ,Restore DASH Role, Startup, Enter License Key, Set Welcome Portlets

Instructions for Simple MySQL Installation
We have a fully configured installation available if you wish to use MySQL. This process is very simple compared to the Multi-DB process and requires several small configuration changes. Use this set of instructions if you downloaded the DASHv2.0_MySQL.zip file.
- Download PDF - Download complete install instructions as a PDF
- Server and Operating System , Basic server requirements, operating systems, JAVA versions needed and Setup
- Data Base Preparation MySQL , Create Data Base Schema and User Access for Jetspeed 2.1 Installation
- Unzip DASH, Restore Database , Unzip the DASH download file and restore the configured DASH database
- Configure Connections , Configure Jetspeed Connection Document
- Startup DASH and Update the DASH Connections ,Startup DASH, Enter your License key and Update the DASH Database Connections
- View the Sample Dashboard ,You are Finished - Now build your own DASHBOARDS
Instructions for Simple Derby Installation
We have a fully configured installation available if you wish to use Apache Derby. Derby is a java runtime database that loads when DASH is started. This process requires several small configuration changes only. It is the simpliest way to evaluate the product. If you decide to purchase DASH - we recommend re-downloading one of the previous versions to be used in a production environment. Use this set of instructions if you downloaded the DASHv2.0_Derby.zip file.
